The Name “MC” and “Oluomo“
The name “MC” all began when he was in school. It was coined from Musiliu by a lady who was fond of him due to a game called Game and Match he used to play during his school days. while the added moniker” oluomo” was given to him by numerous monarchs which means “son of communities”.
The Rise of MC Oluomo
MC Oluomo used to be merely one of those conductors in Oshodi, the renowned ghetto district of Lagos. A bus boy in Nigeria rode life’s ups and downs to become a well-known member of the community and is now almost as highly ranked as royalty, successful politicians, and other ups and downs. This is an example of how ambition, under the right circumstances, can be its pinion.
In many circles, Oluomo’s election as NURTW chairman is still seen as the cherry on top. This is because Oluomo was already receiving honorable mentions in newspaper headlines even though he assumed the role of chairman in 2020 and should have held till 2024, if not for his suspension by the national chairman of NURTW in 2022.
Additionally, numerous recognized monarchs had already given him the moniker “Oluomo,” which roughly translates to “son of the communities”; so, the NURTW top position only added to his appeal. In today’s world, MC Oluomo is virtually a household name, a possible candidate for the Lagos State House of Representatives, and a figure with a significant impact on the city of Lagos.
During Bola Tinubu’s leadership, Lagos State was able to control its hooliganism issue by enlisting NURTW and tacitly integrating them into the state government. Characters like MC Oluomo benefited from increased political and economic access, which gave them access to a wide range of opportunities in Nigeria.
