Abiodun Ibrahim Chatta, also known as Ibrahim Chatta, is a native of Kwara State. He was born on October 13, 1970. Ibrahim Chatta came from a very large family, he had 13 siblings. 

His mother hails from Modakeke, a small town in Osun State.

Ibrahim Chatta never completed his primary level education; he dropped out in Primary 3 and started acting.

According to him, one of the reasons he dropped out was because he had a strong passion for acting. He was quoted saying:

” Everything happened because of the pressure of peers. I was young, I was attracted to everything new, and I could not put in my mind that education is so important. Since I was a child, I wanted to become an actor, but I had no it that it would take so much. As a result, I left school in the third grade”

Although Ibrahim Chatta never made it to any higher institution, most of the skills he has now were self-taught while on set. Now, he is a renowned actor in the Nigerian movie industry, winning various awards and many nominations.

Ibrahim Chatta first got married to his first wife, Olayinka Solomon, soon after the couple broke up. He married Salamatu Mohammed Lafiaji, the daughter of the former Governor of Kwara State, Shaaba Lafiaji.

The couple met in 2007 and tied the knot in a traditional wedding on December 30, 2012. After some time, the couple were disagreeing.

According to the report, Salamatu’s mother visited the house in which the couple lived, she was disappointed and upset by the living condition of her daughter Salamatu because it did not show that she was living well as regards her environment as it did not represent the kind Salamatu grew up.

Salamatu and Ibrahim broke up after a scandal surrounding domestic violence. Salamatu was quoted saying:

“We met on the set of Kunle Afod’s movie titled Tiwonsikanga in 2007. We started living together in 2008 and he was my first love. I have never dated any other guy in my life; he deflowered me and that was why I submitted myself to him. He was a womanizer, a gold digger who collected all the money in my account before I realized what was going on. Upon sensing that I was broke, he began misbehaving and bringing women into our house.”

Salamatu also said that the constant beating and rough- handling resulted in a miscarriage. But Ibrahim Chatta has denied these allegations against him by his ex-wife.

 He said that he cannot hit a woman and admitted that he had raised his hands on his ex-wife just once.
